Fabrication Alfasi offers an integrated range of structural steel services from feasibility to design, fabrication and site erection. Our 5,500 square metre Dandenong plant is set on 3.5 acres, with an annual production capability of 10,000 tonnes. A specialist network of sub-contractors and suppliers adds substantially to that capacity.

K4000 Alfasi Steel Constructions Kinetic K4000 is a state of the art heavy-duty combination plasma/Oxy/machining centre capable of processing material up to 65mm thick with Plasma and in excess of 200mm thick with Oxy fuel. The machine is fitted with a 20HP spindle with thru coolant, which allows drilling, taping and milling of Mild, Stainless or Aluminium steel plate. The result is a machine that is capable of utilising the most advanced carbide tool technology, which allows the K4000 to drill holes in steel quicker than other machines can burn them. This combined with the cutting power of the latest in Harris gas cutting system’s and a high performance HPR260 plasma cutting system with CNC auto gas control from Hypertherm USA, provides Alfasi with superior high definition quality and the quickest plate processing times available. Not to mention a full CNC controlled Plasma/Oxy bevel head for up to 45 degrees weld preparation on any size part required.
HID 900 - MTS Alfasi Steel Constructions HID 900 MTS Automatic CNC controlled pipe coaster, manufactured by MARUHIDE KOKI Japan, is at the cutting edge of technology with its 6 Axis Robotic CNC Controlled flexibility, allowing profiling and weld preparation with either plasma or oxy fuel on CHS up to 1000mm OD and up 400 x 400mm square hollow and rectangular sections. This one of a kind custom built machine offers virtually endless processing ability whilst making problems that are usually associated with the most complicated and time-consuming hollow section profiling and fabrication a thing of the past.

Our project managers are experienced in all areas required to successfully complete projects including programming, coordination with trades, delivery of material, quality assurance, safety, contract administration and steel erection.Our project management skills provide flexibility to incorporate other areas when undertaking contracts, achieving a better overall project outcome for our clients.

Federation Square Plaza Deck - In addition to providing the structural steel for the challenging architectural deck at this landmark project, Alfasi's scope included all formwork, shear studs, reinforcing steel, and concrete.
Erection Alfasi employs its own erection personnel for all projects using our own equipment. This is supplemented by additional cranes as required and managed on site by our project managers and site foremen. Alfasi has the flexibility to operate in numerous geographical locations across Australia, both in terms of site erection and project management.

Heavy Lift Expertise
In the following projects, Alfasi utilised advanced technology in steel erection and methodology to provide safe, effective and cost efficient solutions to the most complex steel erections.
MCG Northern Stand Redevelopment - Melbourne, Victoria
- 40m 25 tonne roof rafters assembled on the ground with all steel attachments and cable stay.
- Roof rafters erected by dual lift and cable stay winched to its final position to support rafter.
Telstra Dome - Melbourne, Victoria
- Features the world's largest retractable roof with an opening spanning 165 meters by 100m.
- The retractable roof consists of two moveable sections each weighing approximately 1500t.
- In addition to the retractable roof, Alfasi fabricated and erected the fixed roof steelwork and the stadium raking seat support steelwork totalling 5,500t.
- The jacking of the retractable roof trusses was completed in four stages, with each roof assembly section weighing 700t and measuring 165m in length, 25m wide and 15m in height.
- The fully assembled and fitted roof section was jacked up to 45m above ground and launched onto the permanent structure.
Sydney Showgrounds Exhibition Halls - Sydney, New South Wales
- Combined steel and laminated timber beam structure totalling 2000 tonnes, measuring 100m in diametre and 50m in height.
- The dome, weighing approximately 500t, was jacked up to its final height position in three stages.
Ansett Domestic Terminal - Sydney, New South Wales
- 10 roof trusses were assembled and fully fitted out on the ground
- The trusses were jacked up to their final position to form the roof for the new Departure Hall.
